Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI Infrastructure Support Analyst with a strong networking focus to join our dynamic team in Schaumburg, IL. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the robust and efficient operation of our advanced AI infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on network design, implementation, and troubleshooting. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the high availability and performance of systems that power IBM’s cutting-edge AI initiatives. This position requires deep expertise in networking protocols, cloud environments, and a foundational understanding of AI/ML infrastructure needs. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure network architectures for AI/ML workloads.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues affecting AI infrastructure, including connectivity, latency, and throughput problems.
- Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Collaborate with AI engineers and data scientists to understand their networking requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Implement and enforce network security best practices and compliance standards.
- Automate network operations and management tasks using scripting and orchestration tools.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical network infrastructure.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Stay current with emerging networking technologies and AI infrastructure trends.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in network administration or engineering.
- Proficiency with core networking protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VLANs.
- Experience with network hardware from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, or Arista.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts (AWS VPC, Azure VNet, GCP VPC).
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
- Scripting skills in Python or Bash for network automation.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues quickly and effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Understanding of AI/ML workload requirements from a networking perspective.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional network certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, JNCIP).
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Wireshark).
- Knowledge of container networking (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) principles.
