Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Architecture Style Classifier to join our innovative AI Design Support team. In this 100% remote role, you will be instrumental in developing and refining AI models capable of accurately identifying and categorizing architectural styles across various eras and geographies. This position plays a critical part in enhancing Autodesk’s next-generation design tools, enabling architects and designers to leverage AI for inspiration, analysis, and creative exploration. You will work at the intersection of architectural history, design theory, and cutting-edge artificial intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, train, and fine-tune AI/Machine Learning models for the classification of architectural styles from diverse datasets.
- Conduct in-depth research into architectural history, theory, and evolving design trends to inform model development and data labeling.
- Annotate and curate large-scale architectural image and 3D model datasets with accurate style classifications and relevant metadata.
- Collaborate closely with AI engineers, product managers, and designers to integrate classification models into Autodesk's design software.
- Analyze model performance, identify biases, and propose solutions for improving accuracy, robustness, and interpretability.
- Provide expert architectural insights and feedback to enhance AI-powered design tools and user experiences.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, computer vision, and architectural design methodologies.
Required Skills
- Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of architectural history, styles, and design principles.
- Demonstrable experience with machine learning concepts, particularly in classification tasks and computer vision.
- Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) for understanding design data.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and model outputs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration in a remote environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fully remote setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Architecture, Architectural History, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for model deployment.
- Published research or significant project experience in AI applied to architecture or design.
- A portfolio demonstrating architectural analysis, design projects, or AI/ML contributions related to visual data.
