Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bioanalytical Chemist with a strong focus on protein and small molecule analysis to join our dynamic R&D team in West Covina, CA. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, validating, and executing cutting-edge bioanalytical methods to support drug discovery and development programs. Your expertise will directly contribute to understanding drug pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and immunogenicity, crucial for advancing therapeutic candidates. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and validate robust bioanalytical methods for the quantification of proteins, peptides, and small molecules in various biological matrices using techniques such as LC-MS/MS, HPLC, ELISAs, and other immunoassay platforms.
  • Perform routine sample analysis, data acquisition, processing, and interpretation in accordance with GLP/GCP guidelines and internal standard operating procedures.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of analytical instruments, including liquid chromatography systems (HPLC, UPLC), mass spectrometers (triple quadrupole, high-resolution MS), and automated liquid handling systems.
  • Troubleshoot analytical methods and instrumentation to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Document experimental procedures, results, and conclusions in detailed laboratory notebooks and technical reports.
  • Present scientific findings to internal teams and contribute to project discussions.
  • Stay current with scientific literature and industry trends in bioanalytical chemistry and protein analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality assurance protocols.

Required Skills

  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field with 0-2 years of relevant experience, or M.S. with 3+ years, or B.S. with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven expertise in developing and validating bioanalytical methods for proteins, peptides, and small molecules.
  • Hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS (triple quadrupole and/or high-resolution accurate mass systems) for quantitative analysis.
  • Proficiency in chromatographic techniques (HPLC, UPLC) and sample preparation methodologies.
  • Experience with immunoassay techniques (e.g., ELISA, MSD, Luminex) for protein quantification and immunogenicity assessment.
  • Strong understanding of GLP/GCP regulations and their application in bioanalytical laboratories.
  • Excellent data analysis, interpretation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry setting.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines for bioanalytical method validation (e.g., FDA, EMA).
  • Experience with LIMS, electronic lab notebooks (ELN), and statistical software packages.
  • Knowledge of protein purification and characterization techniques.
  • Prior experience working with automated liquid handling systems.
