Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and dependable Cargo Handler to join our team at a secure federal site in Pasco, WA. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling, sorting, and loading/unloading of various types of cargo, ensuring compliance with all federal regulations and company protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload cargo from trucks, aircraft, and other transport vehicles using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Sort and stage cargo according to destination, type, and priority, ensuring accurate manifest matching.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform routine inspections of cargo and equipment, reporting any damage or discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and federal site requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and timely cargo flow.
- Complete necessary documentation and records accurately and promptly.
- Adhere to all security protocols and procedures required for working at a federal facility.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 70 lbs) repeatedly.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening for federal site access.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a warehouse, logistics, or cargo handling role.
- Forklift certification or experience operating similar material handling equipment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working in a secured or regulated environment.
