Job Description
Are you passionate about patient care and looking to start a rewarding career in healthcare? Adventist Health White Memorial is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Nursing Assistant (CNA Trainee) – Hospital Based. This is a unique opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience to receive comprehensive, hands-on training to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). You will work directly within a hospital setting, learning alongside experienced healthcare professionals and contributing to our mission of providing excellent patient care. Upon successful completion of the training program and certification, you will be prepared for a vital role within our patient care teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all aspects of the structured CNA training program, including classroom instruction and clinical rotations.
- Learn to assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding, under direct supervision.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake, and output, reporting any significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Assist with patient mobility and transfers, utilizing proper body mechanics and equipment.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong desire to learn and embark on a career in nursing assistance.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Compassionate and patient-focused demeanor.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous volunteer experience in a healthcare setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (can be obtained during training).
