Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Clinical Trial Pharmacy Assistant with a strong focus on research and laboratory activities to join our dynamic clinical trials team in New Port Richey, FL. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and safe handling of investigational drugs and placebos used in clinical research. The successful candidate will work closely with pharmacists, research nurses, and laboratory personnel to maintain compliance with study protocols, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation, labeling, dispensing, and inventory management of investigational drugs and study materials.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of drug accountability, temperature monitoring, and expiry dates in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
  • Perform routine laboratory tasks related to clinical trials, including sample preparation, handling, and storage, ensuring proper chain of custody.
  • Collaborate with research coordinators and study personnel to ensure timely and accurate delivery of study medications and related supplies.
  • Assist with quality control procedures and participate in internal and external audits related to investigational product management.
  • Ensure all activities comply with institutional policies, FDA regulations, and study-specific protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the research pharmacy and laboratory areas.
  • Participate in training and continuous education to stay current with best practices in clinical trial pharmacy and research operations.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a pharmacy setting (retail, hospital, or research).
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to patient safety and ethical research practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a related scientific or healthcare field.
  • Previous experience in a clinical research setting or with investigational drug services.
  • Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
  • Experience with aseptic technique and sterile compounding.
