Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Cloud Architect with expertise in both AWS and Azure platforms to join our dynamic consulting team in Manchester. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud solutions for our diverse client base, ranging from startups to multinational corporations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, security, data, and application services, coupled with a strong ability to translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architectures. This position is open to global talent and offers sponsorship support for eligible candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions across AWS and Azure platforms.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and architectural designs.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from conception to deployment and optimization.
- Develop and implement cloud governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Conduct architectural reviews and provide recommendations for improvements, cost optimization, and performance tuning.
- Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and best practices.
- Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies, trends, and best practices to drive innovation.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and solution design on AWS and Azure.
- Proven expertise in core AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, Fargate) and Azure services (VMs, Blob Storage, VNet, Azure SQL, Azure Functions).
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, identity and access management (IAM/Azure AD), and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
- Proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a client-facing consulting role.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and/or Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
- Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and practices.
- Experience in data architecture, analytics, or machine learning in the cloud.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
