Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Computer Science Teacher to join our dynamic and innovative Computing department. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated educator to inspire young minds from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level in a high-achieving school environment. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons, contributing to curriculum development, and fostering a passion for computer science among our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Computer Science across Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A-Level, adhering to the national curriculum and school standards.
- Develop and implement innovative lesson plans and teaching materials that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Computer Science curriculum.
- Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and extra-curricular activities.
- Maintain a safe, stimulating, and well-organised learning environment.
- Provide academic and pastoral support to students, fostering their personal growth and well-being.
- Engage in continuous professional development and stay abreast of new developments in Computer Science education.
Required Skills
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification recognized in the UK.
- Demonstrable experience teaching Computer Science to a range of abilities, including GCSE and A-Level.
- Strong subject knowledge across all areas of the Computer Science curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning platforms.
- A Master's degree in Computer Science Education or a related field.
- Experience in an independent school setting.
