Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Conference Porter to join our vibrant team at Hilton Blackpool. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in the smooth and efficient setup, maintenance, and breakdown of our conference and event spaces. You will work closely with our events team and corporate clients to ensure all technical and logistical requirements are met, providing an unparalleled experience for every attendee. This is an exciting opportunity for an organised individual with a strong work ethic to contribute to the success of high-profile corporate events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up conference rooms, meeting spaces, and event areas according to detailed specifications and layouts.
  • Arrange tables, chairs, AV equipment, staging, and other furniture as required for various events.
  • Assist with the setup and testing of audio-visual equipment, including projectors, screens, microphones, and sound systems.
  • Provide on-site support during events, responding promptly to client requests and troubleshooting minor issues.
  • Ensure all equipment is clean, functional, and properly maintained before, during, and after events.
  • Break down event spaces efficiently, storing equipment and furniture appropriately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of storage areas and event equipment.
  • Transport equipment and materials safely between different areas of the hotel.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive and problem-solving attitude.
  • Basic understanding of audio-visual equipment setup and operation.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a porter, events, or hospitality role.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures in an event environment.
