Job Description
Are you a compassionate and reliable individual looking for rewarding short-term care opportunities with excellent compensation? Bayshore Home Health in Richmond Hill, Ontario, is seeking dedicated Respite Care Providers to join our team. This role is perfect for those who thrive on providing essential support to families and individuals, offering temporary relief to primary caregivers, and ensuring clients receive high-quality, personalized care. We offer flexible short-term shifts and a high hourly rate, acknowledging the vital role you play in our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and respectful personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Offer engaging companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Assist with light household tasks such as meal preparation and tidying common areas.
- Remind clients to take medications as prescribed.
- Facilitate client participation in recreational activities and hobbies.
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for clients during shifts.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with clients, families, and Bayshore Home Health staff.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to provide compassionate and patient care
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Reliability and punctuality are paramount
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification
- Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a caregiving role (e.g., Personal Support Worker, Developmental Services Worker)
- Experience working with individuals with diverse needs, including dementia, developmental disabilities, or physical limitations
- Completion of a recognized caregiving program or related field
- Ability to adapt to various home environments and client needs
