Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Counterbalance Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in Exeter. This is an immediate start opportunity offering top rates for skilled individuals committed to safety and operational efficiency. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods within our warehouse and yard operations, playing a crucial role in our supply chain success. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a counterbalance forklift to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse and production areas.
- Perform daily pre-operation safety checks on equipment and report any defects promptly.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Assist with general warehouse duties, including picking, packing, and maintaining a tidy and organised workspace.
- Accurately record inventory movements using manual or electronic systems.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure efficient use of space and resources within the warehouse.
Required Skills
- Valid, in-date Counterbalance Forklift license (RTITB or ITSSAR accredited).
- Proven experience as a Counterbalance Forklift Operator (minimum 1 year).
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional forklift licenses (e.g., Reach Truck, VNA).
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Basic IT skills for data entry and inventory management.
- Manual handling certificate.
