Job Description

Are you an enthusiastic arts student looking for a flexible part-time role that complements your studies and passion for the arts? City Dance Studio Burnaby is seeking a friendly and organized Dance Studio Receptionist to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who loves connecting with people, has an interest in dance, and thrives in a dynamic environment. You’ll be the first point of contact for our students and visitors, playing a crucial role in creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Your flexible schedule will allow you to balance work with your academic commitments, all while gaining valuable experience in a creative industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome students, parents, and visitors with a warm and professional demeanor.
  • Manage class registrations, inquiries, and bookings efficiently, both in person and over the phone/email.
  • Process payments, maintain accurate student records, and handle basic administrative tasks.
  • Assist with studio organization, ensuring common areas are tidy and presentable.
  • Communicate important updates and schedules to students and instructors.
  • Provide information about class offerings, schedules, and studio policies.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence and maintain office supplies.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly and approachable attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable and punctual.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service or reception role (even if informal).
  • A passion for dance, performing arts, or related creative fields.
  • Experience with studio management software (e.g., Mindbody, Jackrabbit Class) is a plus.
  • Currently enrolled in an arts-related academic program.
