Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Day Surgery Porter to join our dynamic team in Hanley. This crucial role involves supporting the efficient flow of patients, equipment, and vital supplies within our fast-paced day surgery unit during morning shifts. You will be an integral part of our patient care pathway, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all. Key Responsibilities
- Transport patients safely and comfortably between wards, operating theatres, and recovery areas within the day surgery unit.
- Assist medical staff with the movement and positioning of patients as required.
- Collect and deliver medical equipment, specimens, notes, and other items as directed.
- Ensure timely and efficient movement of patients and resources to maintain surgical schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of trolleys, wheelchairs, and other transport equipment.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, their families, and staff.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and infection control policies.
- Report any incidents or concerns promptly to the appropriate nursing staff.
