Job Description
Join H-E-B as a Distribution Center Associate and become an essential part of our supply chain team, ensuring products reach our stores and customers efficiently. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for a variety of warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping merchandise. This position requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipment.
- Efficiently and accurately pick and stage products for store delivery, utilizing various equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined organizational standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and report any malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records of stock.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall distribution center operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all operational guidelines.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
