Job Description
Are you a high-energy individual with a passion for pets and a knack for leadership? PetSmart in Hamilton is seeking a dedicated Dog Daycare Supervisor to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our dog daycare facility, ensuring a safe, fun, and stimulating environment for all our canine guests. You’ll lead a team of enthusiastic pet care associates, manage group play, and provide exceptional customer service to pet parents. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of Dog Daycare Associates, providing guidance and training.
- Oversee daily operations of the dog daycare, including dog rotations, feeding schedules, and play activities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs in our care, monitoring behavior and addressing any issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic daycare environment.
- Engage with pet parents, providing updates on their dogs' day and addressing concerns.
- Handle dog introductions and temperament assessments.
- Administer basic first aid to dogs as needed and follow emergency protocols.
- Manage scheduling, attendance, and performance of daycare staff.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures of the facility.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in dog handling or pet care.
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for animal welfare and a deep understanding of dog behavior.
- Physical stamina to handle active dogs and perform cleaning duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience in a pet care setting.
- Certification in Pet First Aid and CPR.
- Knowledge of various dog breeds and their specific needs.
- Experience with positive reinforcement training techniques.
