Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shopify Product Owner to lead our dedicated developer teams. This role is 100% remote, offering you the flexibility to work from your home office. As a Shopify Product Owner, you will be the bridge between our business goals and technical execution, focusing on enhancing and expanding our Shopify-related product offerings. You will be responsible for defining product vision, managing the product backlog, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality features that drive value for our customers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to deliver cutting-edge e-commerce solutions built on the Shopify platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Shopify-focused initiatives.
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
- Translate product strategy into detailed requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Lead and mentor multiple Shopify developer teams, fostering a culture of innovation and high performance.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, UX/UI design, and QA teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and gather customer feedback to identify new opportunities and inform product decisions.
- Monitor product performance, analyze key metrics, and iterate on features to continuously improve user experience and business outcomes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all Shopify-related product inquiries and strategic discussions.
- Stay current with Shopify platform updates, new features, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, with a strong focus on e-commerce platforms.
- Demonstrable expertise with the Shopify ecosystem, including themes, apps, APIs, and Liquid templating.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring multiple developer teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Ability to define, prioritize, and manage a product backlog effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Shopify Partner certification or relevant Shopify development experience.
- Experience with other e-commerce platforms (e.g., Magento, BigCommerce).
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and A/B testing methodologies.
- Previous experience working in a fully remote environment.
