Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Drum Teacher to join our high-energy studio in Fishers, IN. This part-time position focuses on afternoon shifts, providing engaging and effective drum instruction to students of all ages and skill levels, primarily in individual lessons and group band rehearsals. The ideal candidate will have a strong musical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for inspiring young musicians through performance-based education. You will be instrumental in helping students develop their drumming techniques, musical understanding, and stage presence within a supportive and dynamic learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality individual and group drum lessons to students ranging from beginners to advanced levels.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging curriculum content, adapting teaching methods to suit individual student needs and learning styles.
  • Guide students through band rehearsals, helping them develop rhythm, timing, dynamics, and overall musical cohesion.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their musical goals, fostering a love for drumming and performance.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and high-energy learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective educational program.
  • Participate in student showcases and other school events as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in various drumming styles and techniques (e.g., rock, jazz, funk, pop).
  • Ability to read drum notation and teach music theory concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and teenagers.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Reliable and punctual for all scheduled shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching drums in a formal or informal setting.
  • Experience performing in bands or musical ensembles.
  • Knowledge of various musical genres and historical drumming figures.
