Job Description

As an EA Sports Community Moderator with a Safe Gaming focus, you will be instrumental in fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for players across our EA Sports titles. You will monitor player interactions, enforce community guidelines, and respond to player inquiries and reports to ensure a respectful and engaging experience for everyone. Your primary objective will be to identify and address inappropriate behavior, promote fair play, and actively contribute to the well-being of our gaming communities. This hybrid role is based in our vibrant Los Angeles office, offering the best of both collaborative in-person work and flexible remote opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively monitor EA Sports game forums, social media channels, and in-game chat for compliance with community guidelines and terms of service.
  • Investigate and resolve player reports of misconduct, harassment, cheating, and other violations, ensuring timely and fair outcomes.
  • Issue warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans as appropriate, maintaining clear and consistent documentation of all actions taken.
  • Engage positively with the community to answer questions, provide support, and reinforce positive player behavior and responsible gaming.
  • Identify emerging trends in community behavior, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement in player safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with development, customer service, and legal teams to escalate complex issues and refine moderation strategies.
  • Participate in the development, refinement, and communication of clear community guidelines and moderation policies.
  • Contribute to regular reports on moderation activities, community health metrics, and overall player sentiment.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong understanding of online community dynamics and moderation best practices.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and challenging situations with empathy, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with various social media platforms and online forum tools.
  • A genuine passion for video games, especially EA Sports titles, and an understanding of contemporary gaming culture.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (1+ year) in online community moderation, customer support, or trust & safety roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of player safety principles and experience with content moderation tools.
  • Experience managing or moderating large-scale online communities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Bilingualism or multilingualism is a significant advantage.
