Job Description

Are you passionate about music and love working with young children? Bright Horizons is seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Music Leader to join our team in Orlando. This role is perfect for individuals eager to introduce children to the joy of music through engaging, play-based learning experiences. No prior formal experience in music education is required – we provide comprehensive training to equip you with the skills and curriculum knowledge needed to succeed. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate music sessions for children aged 0-5, incorporating singing, movement, instrument play, and musical games.
  • Implement Bright Horizons' play-based music curriculum, adapting activities to meet the diverse needs and interests of the children.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where every child feels encouraged to participate.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and center leadership to integrate music into the broader educational program.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's musical development and program activities.
  • Maintain a safe and organized music area, including managing and caring for musical instruments and materials.
  • Participate actively in provided training and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Required Skills

  • A genuine passion for music and early childhood development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and patient demeanor.
  • Basic musicality (e.g., ability to sing in tune, keep a beat).
  • Creative and imaginative approach to teaching.
  • Ability to engage and manage a group of young children effectively.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new teaching methodologies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Music Education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience (even informal, e.g., volunteering, babysitting) working with young children.
