Job Description
Join our dedicated team as an Eco-Farm Picker at our sustainable organic farm near Oxford. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about organic agriculture, environmental stewardship, and hands-on work in a vibrant outdoor setting. You will be instrumental in harvesting a variety of organic crops, ensuring quality and care from field to fork. We value precision, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to our organic principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently harvest a wide range of organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs according to strict quality standards.
- Carefully handle produce to prevent damage and ensure optimal freshness.
- Follow daily picking schedules and targets as directed by the farm supervisor.
- Assist with basic crop maintenance tasks, such as weeding, planting, and irrigation.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations on the farm.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment in the fields and packing areas.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of English for communication and safety instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in agricultural work, particularly in picking or harvesting.
- Knowledge of organic farming principles and practices.
- Experience with farm machinery or tools (basic training will be provided if needed).
- A full UK driving license and access to transport due to farm location.
