Job Description
Are you passionate about esports and looking for a hands-on opportunity to be part of exciting gaming events? Northern Arena is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Esports Tournament Cable Helpers to assist with the crucial setup and breakdown of gaming arenas for our upcoming tournaments in North Battleford. This temporary role is perfect for individuals eager to gain practical experience in event production, specifically focusing on the technical infrastructure that brings esports events to life. You will be instrumental in ensuring all gaming stations are properly cabled and ready for competition, contributing directly to a seamless tournament experience. This is an on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the physical setup of gaming stations, including desks, chairs, and monitors, according to floor plans.
- Efficiently manage and route power and data cables (Ethernet, display cables, power cords) for multiple gaming PCs and consoles.
- Verify all connections are secure and functional, performing basic troubleshooting for cabling issues.
- Collaborate with event production staff to meet setup deadlines and adapt to changing requirements.
- Assist with the breakdown of gaming arenas post-event, carefully disconnecting, coiling, and packing cables and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout the setup and breakdown phases.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of computer peripherals and cabling.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical stamina to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with esports event environments or competitive gaming setups.
- Previous experience in event setup, A/V, or IT support.
- A passion for esports and the gaming industry.
