Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Facility Support Worker to join our team in Richland, Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall upkeep of our facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant working environment for all employees. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who take pride in their work and are looking to contribute to a world-class scientific research institution. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting various surfaces.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and common areas, ensuring high standards of hygiene.
- Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Restock supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need replenishment.
- Organize and maintain storage closets and cleaning equipment in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks as needed, such as changing light bulbs or reporting larger issues.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Support special event setups and takedowns, including arranging furniture and ensuring cleanliness.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift moderate weights (up to 25 lbs), and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a custodial, cleaning, or facility support role.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
