Job Description
Are you an energetic individual looking for a dynamic part-time role with morning shifts? FedEx Freight in Corpus Christi, TX, is seeking dedicated Dockworkers to join our team. As a Dockworker, you will play a crucial role in our freight operations, primarily responsible for loading and unloading trailers, moving freight, and ensuring the accurate and safe handling of all shipments. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to safety and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight safely and efficiently from trailers using various equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Verify and document freight information accurately, checking for damage or discrepancies.
- Operate powered industrial equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Sort, stack, and stage freight in designated areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on the dock.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to frequently lift and move freight weighing up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately read and interpret shipping labels.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and a dock environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety procedures.
- Basic math skills and ability to complete paperwork accurately.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience operating a forklift or other powered industrial equipment.
- Prior experience in a warehouse, freight, or logistics environment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
