Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking an enthusiastic and meticulous Filing & Post Room Clerk to join our team in the vibrant Pearl District of Portland. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals eager to start their career in a supportive corporate environment. You will be instrumental in maintaining the organization and efficient flow of critical documents and mail within our dynamic office, ensuring that all communications and records are handled with precision and care. Key Responsibilities
- Sort, distribute, and collect incoming and outgoing mail, parcels, and internal documents promptly and accurately.
- Maintain organized filing systems, both physical and digital, ensuring easy retrieval of information and adherence to company policies.
- Operate and maintain office equipment such as franking machines, scanners, and photocopiers.
- Assist with the preparation and dispatch of large mailings, courier services, and special deliveries.
- Ensure the post room and filing areas are tidy, organized, and adequately stocked with supplies.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols for all sensitive documents and information.
- Provide general administrative support to various departments as needed, including scanning, copying, and data entry.
- Handle queries regarding mail and filing, directing them to the appropriate person or department.
Required Skills
- Excellent organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in an office or administrative support role (even unpaid or volunteer experience).
- Familiarity with various office equipment and mailroom operations.
