Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Fleet Maintenance Coordinator to join our Fort Worth team. This critical role involves coordinating all aspects of our vehicle fleet’s maintenance and repair operations, ensuring maximum uptime, safety, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical understanding of heavy-duty vehicles and a proven ability to manage complex maintenance schedules and vendor relationships. You will be instrumental in maintaining our fleet to the highest standards, directly impacting our operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs for a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle performance data and maintenance records to identify trends, predict potential issues, and optimize service intervals.
- Liaise effectively with internal maintenance technicians, external vendors, and parts suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs and procurement.
- Manage parts inventory, ordering, and tracking to support ongoing maintenance operations and minimize downtime.
- Ensure strict compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Utilize fleet management software to accurately track maintenance activities, costs, fuel consumption, and vehicle uptime metrics.
- Provide technical support and guidance to drivers and maintenance staff, assisting with troubleshooting and diagnosing vehicle issues.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance coordination, heavy equipment management, or a similar role.
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and general vehicle mechanics.
- Proficiency with fleet management software systems (e.g., Omnitracs, Samsara, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
- ASE certifications in Heavy-Duty Truck Repair or other relevant technical certifications.
- Experience with compliance reporting for commercial vehicle fleets.
- Prior experience working in the logistics or transportation industry.
