Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and security-minded Fraud Prevention Teller to join our team in Savannah, Georgia. This vital role is at the forefront of protecting our clients and the bank from fraudulent activities. As a Fraud Prevention Teller, you will be responsible for handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently, while maintaining a heightened awareness for potential fraud risks. You will play a critical role in identifying suspicious patterns, verifying identities, and adhering to strict security protocols to safeguard assets. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and cashing checks.
  • Actively identify and prevent potential fraudulent activities by meticulously reviewing transactions, verifying identities, and recognizing suspicious behaviors.
  • Adhere strictly to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to fraud prevention and security.
  • Educate customers on best practices for protecting their accounts and personal information.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current fraud trends and prevention techniques.
  • Resolve customer inquiries and issues with professionalism and a security-first mindset.
  • Balance cash drawer and manage currency, coin, and negotiable instruments.
  • Collaborate with branch management and security teams on suspicious activity reporting and investigations.
  • Promote a positive and secure banking environment for all clients.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service or cash handling role.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to identify and address suspicious activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics and computer systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • High degree of integrity and discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a bank teller or in a financial services environment.
  • Specific training or certifications in fraud detection and prevention.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations (e.g., BSA, AML).
  • Bilingual proficiency (Spanish a plus).
