Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Health Aide (HHA) to join our growing home health team in Wichita, Kansas. In this vital role, you will provide essential care and support to patients in the comfort of their own homes, helping them maintain independence and enhance their quality of life. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide assistance with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and adaptive equipment as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks essential to the patient's health and safety, such as tidying living areas and laundry.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed.
- Remind patients to take medications as prescribed (without administering them).
- Monitor and report changes in the patient's physical condition, behavior, or cognitive status to the supervising nurse.
- Provide companionship and engage patients in stimulating activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for the patient.
- Accurately document services provided and patient observations.
Required Skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and patience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow care plans accurately and work independently.
- Basic understanding of health and hygiene practices.
- Physical ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients with mobility.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) certification from an accredited program.
- Previous experience in home health, hospice, or a direct patient care setting.
- Current CPR certification.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
