Job Description
Are you passionate about e-commerce and have a keen eye for detail? Northern Commerce is looking for a proactive and meticulous Shopify App Tester to join our growing team in Nanaimo. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and functionality of new and existing Shopify applications, identifying bugs, glitches, and usability issues before they reach our clients. Key Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive test plans for new and updated Shopify applications.
- Rigorously identify, document, and track bugs, defects, and inconsistencies using issue tracking software.
- Perform functional, regression, usability, and cross-browser/device testing.
- Collaborate closely with developers, project managers, and designers to understand app requirements and provide clear, actionable feedback.
- Verify bug fixes and ensure issues are resolved effectively.
- Contribute to the improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
- Stay up-to-date with Shopify platform updates and industry best practices in app development and testing.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting bugs and collaborating with teams.
- Basic understanding of e-commerce principles and online shopping experiences.
- Familiarity with web browsers and common web technologies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Curiosity and a proactive attitude towards learning new systems and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with Shopify as a user or merchant.
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Asana).
- Any previous experience in a quality assurance or testing role (even informal).
- An understanding of mobile testing principles.
