Job Description
We are seeking a highly professional and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a High-End Furniture Delivery & Assembly Specialist. This role is crucial in upholding the Weylandts standard of ‘white glove’ service from the moment furniture leaves our warehouse until it is perfectly placed and assembled in our customers’ homes. You will be responsible for the safe transportation, careful handling, and expert assembly of premium furniture, ensuring an immaculate delivery experience that exceeds customer expectations. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, transport, and unload high-end furniture and fragile items to customer locations throughout Cape Town and surrounding areas.
- Perform precise and accurate assembly of various types of furniture, following manufacturer specifications and best practices.
- Execute 'white glove' delivery standards, including wearing protective gear, laying down floor protection, and ensuring a spotless environment before and after assembly.
- Provide exceptional customer service, communicating proactively about delivery times, addressing customer inquiries, and resolving any minor issues professionally on-site.
- Conduct thorough pre-delivery inspections of furniture for any damage or defects, and post-assembly inspections to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic perfection.
- Maintain delivery vehicles, tools, and equipment in excellent working condition, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Complete all necessary delivery paperwork, obtain customer signatures, and handle any payment processing with accuracy.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in furniture delivery and assembly, preferably with high-end or complex items.
- Strong practical knowledge of furniture assembly techniques and use of power tools.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift and maneuver heavy furniture safely.
- Impeccable customer service and communication skills, with a polite and professional demeanor.
- Valid South African driver's license (Code 08/B) with a clean driving record.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to potential challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a 'white glove' service environment or luxury goods delivery.
- Knowledge of various furniture materials and proper care techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions and technical drawings efficiently.
- First Aid certification is a plus.
- A clean criminal record check and sober habits.
