Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Health Aide (HHA) to join our growing team in Kansas City, Kansas. As an HHA, you will provide essential personal care, companionship, and support to our patients in their homes, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life. This role requires empathy, reliability, and a strong commitment to patient care. We offer immediate start opportunities for qualified candidates upon successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Provide assistance with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals, assisting with feeding as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for the patient.
- Remind patients to take medications as prescribed (not administering medication).
- Monitor and report changes in the patient's condition or behavior to the supervising nurse.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, engaging them in conversation and activities.
- Document services provided accurately and timely in accordance with care plans.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide (HHA) training program or CNA certification.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
