Hilton Manchester Deansgate is seeking a dedicated Hotel Porter to join our welcoming team. You’ll be an integral part of ensuring our guests have a seamless and memorable stay, assisting with luggage, directing enquiries, and contributing to the smooth operation of our hotel. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests upon arrival and departure, creating a positive first and last impression.
- Assist guests with luggage handling and transportation to and from their rooms.
- Provide accurate information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions and amenities.
- Support front desk operations as needed, including directing guests, managing deliveries, and answering general queries.
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the lobby, entrance, and luggage storage areas.
- Operate hotel trolleys and other equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Respond to guest requests and resolve minor issues promptly and courteously, escalating complex situations when necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments (e.g., Housekeeping, Front Office) to ensure a cohesive guest experience.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, safety standards, and security procedures.
- Actively participate in training and mentorship programs to continuously develop new skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Strong customer service orientation and a genuine desire to assist guests.
- Ability to work effectively and remain composed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry luggage up to 25kg.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a proactive willingness to learn and adapt.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Must be under 21 years of age due to the specific nature of this program, focused on nurturing young talent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in any customer-facing role (e.g., retail, volunteer work, food service).
- Basic understanding of hotel operations or a strong interest in the hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in a second language (advantageous but not required).
