Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Housekeeping Porter with heavy lifting support to join our vibrant Housekeeping team at Hilton Portsmouth. This stable role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our daily housekeeping services, particularly in tasks requiring significant physical strength and endurance. You will be responsible for moving furniture, delivering supplies, and assisting with various physically demanding aspects of maintaining our high standards of cleanliness and guest comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently move heavy furniture, beds, and other items as required for room setups, deep cleaning, or maintenance projects.
- Transport linen, amenities, and cleaning supplies to designated areas throughout the hotel, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Assist Housekeeping attendants with tasks that require heavy lifting or additional physical support.
- Respond promptly to guest requests for items such as rollaway beds, cribs, or luggage assistance.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas, linen rooms, and trolleys.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards observed during duties.
- Adhere to all hotel safety and security procedures, including proper lifting techniques.
- Support event setup and breakdown by assisting with equipment and furniture movement.
- Collaborate effectively with the Housekeeping team and other hotel departments.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting (up to 25kg) and prolonged standing/walking.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- A positive attitude and commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a hotel environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar physically demanding role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Familiarity with proper manual handling techniques and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of hotel operations.
