Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Petroleum Geologist Associate to join our dynamic team in Wesley Chapel, FL. The successful candidate will apply geological principles and advanced analytical techniques to characterize hydrocarbon reservoirs, assess prospectivity, and support drilling operations. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data to evaluate subsurface reservoirs and prospectivity.
- Utilize geological software packages (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite) for seismic interpretation, well correlation, and volumetric analysis.
- Construct detailed geological maps, cross-sections, and models to delineate hydrocarbon accumulations.
- Participate in well planning, including target definition, wellbore design, and geological prognosis.
- Monitor drilling operations, provide real-time geological support, and interpret logging-while-drilling (LWD) and wireline logs.
- Prepare comprehensive geological reports, presentations, and technical recommendations for project teams and management.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and drilling engineers.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in petroleum geology.
- Adhere to Chevron's strict safety and environmental standards in all work activities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of petroleum geology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology.
- Proficiency in geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, Geolog).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret various types of geological data, including seismic, well logs, and core data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and team collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Petroleum Geology or a related field.
- Previous internship or research experience in the oil and gas industry.
