Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our dynamic and growing cybersecurity team. This 100% remote position is focused on supporting and enhancing the security posture of our clients primarily leveraging Microsoft security technologies. You will play a crucial role in monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats, contributing to a secure environment for our diverse client base. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring professional to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge Microsoft security tools and develop a strong foundation in cybersecurity operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems, specifically Microsoft Sentinel, for security incidents and alerts.
- Perform initial triage and investigation of security events, identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Contribute to incident response activities, including documentation and reporting of security breaches.
- Support vulnerability management processes, including scanning, analysis, and remediation tracking.
- Collaborate with senior analysts and engineers to implement security controls and improve existing security infrastructure.
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives for internal teams and clients.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and Microsoft security technologies.
- Document technical issues, solutions, and operational procedures.
Required Skills
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles and concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Active Directory.
- Basic knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and network security.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, especially Microsoft security platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed or pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, AZ-900, SC-900).
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Defender suite, Azure Security Center, or Microsoft Sentinel.
- Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Understanding of cloud security concepts, particularly in Azure.
