Job Description
Maersk is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Downstream Logistics Associate to join our fast-paced team in Grimsby. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to kick-start their career in logistics and supply chain management within a global leader. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods from our distribution centers to end customers, working closely with various internal teams and external partners to optimize delivery processes and meet tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination and tracking of domestic and international shipments.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse teams for timely dispatch.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, suppliers, and customers regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Process and verify shipping documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Support the resolution of logistics-related problems, such as delays or discrepancies.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities and generate reports as required.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic understanding of supply chain principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a clerical or administrative role within a logistics or transportation company (internships included).
- Familiarity with logistics software or ERP systems.
