Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Field Engineer specializing in Mechanical Maintenance to join our dynamic team in Round Rock, Texas. This entry-level position is perfect for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience looking to launch their career in industrial maintenance. As a Junior Field Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of mechanical systems and equipment at various client sites. This role requires frequent travel and operates on a per diem basis for expenses, offering an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers and technicians with the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, inspections, and calibrations to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective repair solutions.
  • Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components, adhering to safety protocols and technical specifications.
  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and observations accurately in technical reports and maintenance logs.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients on equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical principles, systems, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interaction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various field environments.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in a field service or industrial maintenance setting.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and control instrumentation.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
  • Experience with hand and power tools common in mechanical maintenance.
