Job Description
Join Eaton as a Junior UPS Entertainment Lead and embark on an exciting career at the forefront of power management for dynamic entertainment events. This entry-level position is perfect for an enthusiastic and technically curious individual eager to learn the ropes of ensuring seamless power delivery for concerts, festivals, corporate events, and more. As a key member of our event support team, you will assist in the setup, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and associated electrical equipment. You will receive hands-on training and mentorship, developing critical skills in a fast-paced environment where reliability is key. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians in the deployment, installation, and configuration of UPS systems and related power distribution units (PDUs) for various entertainment venues and events.
- Monitor UPS system performance during live events, identifying and reporting any anomalies or potential issues promptly.
- Perform routine checks and preventative maintenance on power equipment, ensuring optimal operational readiness.
- Support basic troubleshooting and diagnostics of electrical and UPS system failures under supervision.
- Maintain accurate inventory of equipment, tools, and spare parts.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, especially when working with electrical systems.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including event producers, venue staff, and other technical personnel.
- Participate in training sessions and continuous learning initiatives to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
- Prepare and pack equipment for transport to and from event locations.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated strong interest in electronics, power systems, or event technology.
- Basic understanding of electrical principles (e.g., voltage, current, power) preferred, but not strictly required for entry-level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and environments.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical coursework or certifications in electronics, electrical systems, or related fields.
- Previous experience (even volunteer) with event production, audio/visual setup, or stage crew.
- Familiarity with various types of batteries and power storage solutions.
- Proficiency with basic hand and power tools.
- A portfolio or personal projects demonstrating technical interest or skills.
