Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Linen Assistant to join our hospital logistics team in Whistler. In this routine and ongoing role, you will be crucial in ensuring the seamless supply and management of linens throughout the facility. This position involves handling, sorting, distributing, and collecting various linen items, maintaining inventory, and adhering to strict hygiene and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will be reliable, organized, and capable of performing physical tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment, contributing directly to patient comfort and facility efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect soiled linen from patient rooms, operating theatres, and other hospital departments.
- Sort, count, and prepare linen for transport to laundry services.
- Receive, inspect, and store clean linen deliveries.
- Distribute fresh linen to designated areas, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Maintain accurate records of linen inventory and distribution.
- Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines at all times.
- Operate and clean linen carts and related equipment.
- Report any linen shortages, discrepancies, or equipment malfunctions.
- Assist with other general logistics and support tasks as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and pushing carts.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills.
- Understanding of hygiene and infection control principles.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a linen service, laundry, or hospital environment.
- Familiarity with hospital logistics or supply chain operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
