Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Linguistic Data Annotator to join our innovative team in Dartmouth. In this role, you will be crucial in improving AI and machine learning models by accurately annotating, classifying, and reviewing linguistic data. This position requires strong language skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality data standards. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately annotate and categorize linguistic data (e.g., text, speech, images) according to project-specific guidelines.
- Perform quality assurance reviews on annotated data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to guidelines.
- Provide clear and concise feedback on annotation guidelines and tools to improve efficiency and data quality.
- Collaborate with project managers and fellow annotators to meet project deadlines and quality metrics.
- Adapt to new annotation tasks and tools quickly, demonstrating flexibility in a dynamic environment.
- Participate in calibration sessions and training to maintain high annotation standards.
- Identify and escalate complex linguistic or technical issues to project leads.
Required Skills
- Native or near-native fluency in English and at least one additional language (written and spoken).
- Excellent linguistic comprehension and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions consistently.
- Proficiency in using web-based tools and comfortable with technology.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
- Basic understanding of natural language processing (NLP) concepts.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
- Experience with data annotation, localization, or transcription tools.
- Proficiency in multiple additional languages beyond the required two.
- Previous experience working with machine learning or AI data.
- Familiarity with style guides and linguistic rules across different languages.
