Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Live Sound Technician with a passion for concert and tour production. This role involves extensive travel to various venues across the country, providing top-tier audio support for a diverse range of live events. You will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of complex audio systems, ensuring flawless sound delivery for our clients and audiences. Key Responsibilities
- Set up, tune, and tear down professional concert audio systems, including FOH and monitor systems.
- Operate digital and analog sound consoles (e.g., DiGiCo, Avid VENUE, Yamaha CL/QL) during rehearsals and live performances.
- Conduct thorough sound checks and line checks, collaborating effectively with artists, stage managers, and other production crew.
- Troubleshoot and resolve audio issues quickly and efficiently under pressure.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on audio equipment, ensuring all gear is in optimal working condition.
- Manage microphone placement, signal flow, and gain structure for optimal sound quality.
- Collaborate with lighting, video, and stage departments to ensure seamless show integration.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines.
- Travel extensively with touring productions, sometimes for extended periods.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Live Sound Technician, with a focus on concert or touring environments.
- Proficiency with major digital audio consoles (e.g., DiGiCo, Avid VENUE, Yamaha, Midas).
- Strong understanding of professional loudspeaker systems (e.g., L-Acoustics, d&b audiotechnik, Meyer Sound) and system tuning techniques.
- Expertise in microphone selection, placement, and signal processing.
- Solid knowledge of audio signal flow, gain staging, and acoustic principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work long hours, often standing or moving.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in audio networking technologies (e.g., Dante Level 3, Optocore).
- Experience with large-scale festival or arena touring.
- Knowledge of show control software and automation systems.
- Formal education in audio engineering or a related field.
- Experience with RF coordination and wireless microphone systems.
