Job Description
Are you a compassionate animal lover looking for a flexible, rewarding part-time opportunity in your neighborhood? Rover.com is seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our network as Weekend Dog Sitters in Park City, UT. This role is perfect for someone who adores dogs, enjoys spending time outdoors, and is looking for a stress-free way to earn extra income on weekends. You’ll be providing essential care, companionship, and exercise to local dogs while their owners are away, building lasting relationships with pets and their families in your community. No prior professional experience is necessary – just a genuine love for dogs and a commitment to their well-being!
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and loving care to dogs in their familiar home environment or your dog-friendly home, primarily on weekends.
- Administer food and water according to owner instructions.
- Ensure dogs receive adequate exercise through walks, playtime, and outdoor activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for the pets.
- Communicate regularly with pet parents, providing updates and photos (via the Rover app).
- Follow specific instructions regarding feeding schedules, medications, and special needs.
- Handle unexpected situations calmly and effectively, contacting pet parents or emergency contacts as needed.
Required Skills
- Deep love and understanding of dogs.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously.
- Comfortable with dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
- Physical ability to walk dogs and engage in active play.
- Access to a smartphone and the internet for app usage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior personal experience owning or caring for dogs.
- Knowledge of basic dog behavior and common health signs.
- Flexible weekend availability.
- A strong sense of responsibility and trustworthiness.
- Familiarity with the Park City, UT area.
