Job Description

We are actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Local P&D Driver (LTL) to join our stable fleet in Pasco, Washington. This role involves safely and efficiently operating a commercial motor vehicle to transport Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) freight. You will be responsible for local pick-up and delivery routes, interacting with customers, and ensuring timely and secure transport of goods. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to DOT regulations, and excellent customer service skills. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Class A Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) safely and in compliance with all DOT regulations.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Load and unload freight using various equipment (e.g., pallet jack, hand truck) as needed, ensuring proper handling.
  • Secure freight for transit to prevent damage and ensure stability during transport.
  • Complete and maintain accurate logs, manifest documents, and all required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service during pick-ups and deliveries, acting as a professional representative of XPO Logistics.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding schedules, delays, and issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including your assigned vehicle.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures at all times, promoting a culture of safety.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Hazmat endorsement or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
  • Tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major preventable accidents or violations.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull freight weighing up to 70 pounds regularly.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, including hours of service.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a professional demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) freight operations.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
