Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk with a strong focus on Excel proficiency to join our remote healthcare administration team. In this 100% work-from-home role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity and accessibility of our patient medical records. Your expertise in Excel will be vital for data organization, tracking, and reporting, ensuring smooth operations and compliance within our healthcare system. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately manage, organize, and update patient medical records in digital formats, including extensive use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and confidentiality of all medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Process requests for medical information from authorized personnel, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
  • Perform meticulous data entry and maintain various spreadsheets for tracking patient data, appointments, and record audits.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and other administrative departments to resolve discrepancies and reconcile patient records.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of efficient record-keeping procedures and systems.
  • Generate basic reports from compiled data using Excel for administrative and operational insights.
  • Maintain an organized digital filing system for easy retrieval of medical records.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., creating spreadsheets, data entry, basic formulas, sorting, filtering).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive patient information (HIPAA knowledge).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote work environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, Medical Office Management, or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and coding practices.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare administrative or medical records role.
