Job Description
Join UPS as a City Driver and become an essential part of our world-class logistics network in Wichita, Kansas. As a City Driver, you will be responsible for the timely and safe delivery and pick-up of packages, representing UPS with professionalism and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company vehicle safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Deliver and pick up packages in a timely manner across a designated city route.
- Load and unload packages from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and care.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, addressing inquiries and resolving delivery issues.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and electronic documentation accurately and promptly.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the vehicle.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs independently.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with GPS devices and routing software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or transportation role.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain one.
- Knowledge of Wichita city routes and surrounding areas.
- Experience operating package delivery vehicles.
