Job Description

Are you detail-oriented, eager to learn, and passionate about healthcare? ScribeAmerica is seeking enthusiastic individuals for a remote, entry-level Medical Scribe position. This is an unparalleled opportunity to gain direct exposure to medical environments and terminology while supporting physicians across various specialties. As a Medical Scribe, you will work remotely to document patient encounters in real-time, ensuring accuracy and completeness of medical records. This role requires exceptional listening skills, typing proficiency, and a strong commitment to learning medical concepts. No prior experience is necessary; comprehensive training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accompany physicians during patient examinations via virtual platforms (e.g., telemedicine) or review recorded encounters.
  • Accurately document patient history, physical exams, physician assessments, and treatment plans in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Transcribe physician dictations and other relevant information into the patient's chart.
  • Prepare and organize medical documents for physician review and signature.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth workflow, such as retrieving lab results or imaging reports.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare staff to clarify information and ensure accuracy.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong listening comprehension and ability to process information quickly.
  • Proficiency in typing (minimum 45 WPM with high accuracy).
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet, distraction-free home office environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new software quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Enrollment in or completion of a pre-medical, nursing, or other health-related degree program.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and human anatomy.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service role.
  • Basic understanding of EHR systems.
