Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Transcriptionist to join our remote team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to leverage their expertise from the comfort of their home, ensuring timely and accurate transcription of medical reports. The successful candidate will be responsible for transcribing dictated reports, ensuring strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe dictated medical reports, summaries, office notes, and other medical documents from various healthcare professionals accurately and efficiently.
- Review and edit transcribed reports for clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency.
- Ensure all transcribed documents comply with HIPAA regulations and company confidentiality policies.
- Utilize medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmaceutical knowledge to accurately interpret and transcribe reports.
- Maintain strict turnaround times and meet production goals.
- Operate transcription equipment and relevant software proficiently.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding workload and quality.
- Manage and prioritize multiple assignments effectively.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Transcriptionist.
- Excellent listening and comprehension skills.
- Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
- Exceptional English grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
- Typing speed of 60 WPM with high accuracy.
- Proficiency in using medical transcription software and word processing applications.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certification in Medical Transcription.
- Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with various medical specialties (e.g., cardiology, orthopedics, neurology).
- Prior experience working in a large healthcare system.
