Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Legal Inquiry Evaluator to join our dynamic team. This 100% remote role focuses on evaluating and processing legal inquiries, leveraging cutting-edge legal technology to streamline workflows and enhance accuracy. You will play a crucial part in maintaining compliance, mitigating risks, and supporting Microsoft’s legal operations by meticulously assessing incoming requests and ensuring timely and appropriate responses. This position requires a strong understanding of legal principles, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for technology’s application in the legal field.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, prioritize, and process a high volume of diverse legal inquiries, including subpoenas, data requests, and other legal documents, in accordance with company policies and legal obligations.
- Utilize legal technology platforms and tools to manage cases, track progress, and ensure efficient data retrieval and documentation.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to determine the validity and scope of legal inquiries.
- Collaborate with internal legal counsel, privacy teams, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and formulate responses.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all inquiries and responses within designated systems.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices in legal inquiry evaluation.
- Stay current with relevant legal and regulatory changes that may impact inquiry handling processes.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in a legal support, paralegal, or compliance role.
- Demonstrated proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
- Strong analytical skills with an exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high productivity.
- Proven organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities.
- A strong ethical compass and commitment to confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Paralegal certification or equivalent legal training.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite and Azure cloud services.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Experience in a large corporate legal department or technology company.
