Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Metadata Analyst with a strong focus on Machine Learning to join our remote team. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in defining, managing, and maintaining metadata standards for our extensive data landscape, with a particular emphasis on data used in machine learning models and AI initiatives. You will work closely with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to ensure data discoverability, quality, and governance, driving efficiency and reliability across our AI development lifecycle. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce metadata standards, policies, and procedures for data assets, especially those relevant to machine learning.
- Collaborate with data scientists and MLOps engineers to capture and manage metadata for models, datasets, features, and experiments.
- Implement and utilize metadata management tools and platforms to improve data discoverability and lineage.
- Perform data profiling and analysis to identify and resolve metadata inconsistencies and data quality issues.
- Document data definitions, relationships, business rules, and technical specifications.
- Provide expertise and guidance on metadata best practices to various teams across the organization.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data governance and data management frameworks.
- Facilitate the integration of metadata with other data management processes and systems.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, data governance, or metadata management roles.
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, data pipelines, and model lifecycle.
- Experience with metadata management tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Azure Purview).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and their data services.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with Python or R for data manipulation and scripting.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and industry best practices.
- Certifications in data management or cloud technologies.
- Prior experience in a large-scale enterprise environment.
