Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Mother’s Aide to support a private family in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake, Virginia. This role is ideal for an individual who is nurturing, proactive, and capable of seamlessly blending light housekeeping with supportive childcare duties. The primary goal is to provide an extra set of hands to a busy mother, ensuring the household runs smoothly and children are well-cared for. This position requires a discreet, reliable, and flexible individual with a genuine love for children and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the mother with daily childcare routines, including playtime, meal preparation for children, and overseeing homework.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as tidying common areas, laundry (primarily children's clothes), washing dishes, and organizing children's rooms/play areas.
  • Run errands as needed, including grocery shopping and local pickups/drop-offs.
  • Prepare simple, nutritious meals and snacks for children.
  • Maintain a clean and organized children's environment.
  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities and foster their development.
  • Manage children's schedules and appointments as directed.
  • Provide a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for the children.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in childcare or similar domestic support roles.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a household team.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented approach to tasks.
  • Discretion and respect for family privacy.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Education in Early Childhood Development or related field.
  • Experience with children of various age groups.
  • Positive references from previous employers.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a changing schedule.
