Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Natural Products Chemist with a strong focus on herbal and dietary supplements to join our innovative R&D team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere. You will play a crucial role in the research, development, and quality control of our diverse product portfolio, ensuring the efficacy, safety, and regulatory compliance of our natural health solutions. Your work will involve analytical testing, method development, and the chemical characterization of botanical extracts and active compounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct chemical analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished herbal and dietary supplement products using various analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, MS, UV-Vis, FTIR).
  • Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods for the identification and quantification of active compounds and potential contaminants in natural products.
  • Perform isolation, purification, and structural elucidation of natural product compounds.
  • Collaborate with product development and quality assurance teams to ensure product specifications are met and quality standards are maintained.
  • Interpret analytical data, prepare technical reports, and present findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Stay current with scientific literature, industry trends, and regulatory guidelines related to natural products chemistry and dietary supplements.
  • Contribute to the investigation of new raw materials and formulation ingredients.
  • Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and develop solutions to complex chemical challenges.

Required Skills

  • Strong background in natural products chemistry, organic chemistry, or analytical chemistry.
  • Proficiency with modern analytical instrumentation, including HPLC, GC, and MS.
  • Experience with method development and validation in a regulated environment (e.g., cGMP).
  • Knowledge of botanical extraction, isolation, and purification techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Natural Products Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience in the dietary supplement, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for dietary supplements (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 111).
  • Knowledge of spectroscopy techniques (NMR, IR) for structural elucidation.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis.
